What is clutEditor?
clutEditor is an application for creating or editing the systems color schemes. For example, if you think 'Ivy' is too dark, you could make it lighter, or if you think 'Magenta' has the wrong nuance.
What is a clut?
A clut is a color table. The cluts in the 'Appearance' control panel contain 8 colors. These specifies the color of the progress bars, menus, dragboxes and drag-n-drop outlines.
How to use:
To be in the safe side, copy the 'Appearance' control panel from the 'Control Panels' folder in your system folder on to the desktop or the same folder as clutEditor. Do this by alt-dragging the 'Appearance' icon to the desktop or where ever you want it. After this you follow these steps:
1. Open the 'Appearance' control panel by opening it from the 'Open' menu item in the 'File' menu.
2. Choose a clut to edit, or 'Import clut...' from the 'File' menu.
3. Edit the colors by clicking on them and choose 'Edit color...' from the 'Edit' menu, or alt-click the color.
4. Now you can export your clut, or save it to the 'Appearance' control panel. You can either replace an old clut or you can make a new one.
